Dental Procedure TENS VR System

A VR headset with noise canceling headphones and also a tens system for jaw placement to be used during dental drilling.

Who

All dental patients in addition to special needs patients who would otherwise need sedation. The TENS when placed on the jaw bone and set at a low frequency would help cancel the high frequency drill pitch. With the distraction of the VR entertainment and the headphones, distraction would also assist with improving patient comfort.

What

I wanted to find this for my son who is on the autistic spectrum because dental visits are difficult. These patients also need more frequent dental care because of the medication side effects.

How

Less use of general anesthesia making procedures more safe.

Competitors

I saw no TENS designed specifically for dental procedures and no device that also had a VR headset. Building a combined system would make use more efficient because space is limited during procedures. The number and placement of wires would be more controlled.
