Shelf Stable Storage

Food storage appliance for that shelf stable storage that is airtight, locking in freshness and locking out the bugs

Who

While serving, spending time in GA to TX, and HI, any hot areas with humidity, keeping shelf stable food from going stale is amazing hard as well keeping ants, roaches or even moths out. Open bag of chips, Oreos, etc., you eat and throw as they go stale. You bake a cake and let it cool... the ants beat you back. Your flour and cereal with larva... gross.

What

Fridge-like design, that does not need to cool, but suck the air out when doors are closed and keep the critters away. Multiple opportunities for design. But could have a bottom door that opens to shelves that you put open chips, cookies, flour, etc. into to store. The top door could open to a shelf that you could put a cake or pie to cool. Or when half eaten, put back as well.

How

Stale food is a real problem. Most people don't even know how bad the food is until you go further north and bite into a crunchy treat. Wife frosted a chocolate cake at FT Sam, and 15 minutes later I noticed the icing dancing. Full of ants!!!! Anywhere that doesn't heavily spray with insecticides and there are roaches, they are having parties near our food. Make food taste great again, keep it longer and keep it bug free.

Competitors

I have only seen individual airtight containers. Not an appliance that has space like an average refrigerator. Future home remodels will redesign the kitchen for this airtight pantry appliance. Many kitchens already have a fridge or two, why not make something to place the non refrigerated food?
