This past Tuesday (7/28) we launched the Opal Nugget Ice Maker on Indiegogo. That same day, we had a party to celebrate the launch of the product as well as our first birthday. Needless to say, it was a pretty big day! The event was open to the public and over 200 people joined us for an evening of celebration, food, and drinks. But, to be honest, all of that was pretty much expected. What wasn’t expected was the response our campaign received in the first hours after going live.
The Opal campaign reached it’s funding goal of $150,000 in the first few hours, and reached 200% shortly after. By the time the celebration was starting at 6PM, the campaign had reached $400,000. As it currently sits, the campaign has made over $830,000 (UPDATED: 1.3MM as of 8/3). With the addition of the funding from the Paragon campaign ($317,544), FirstBuild has now passed the one million dollar mark in total crowdfunding dollars raised.
During the celebration, we also had the privilege of cutting one of our first royalty checks. The check went to Brian Wagner who contributed quite a bit to the ChillHub project. Several more payments were scheduled to be handed out, however, several recipients were unable to attend.
The Opal campaign is still live and running on Indiegogo, and will be for 27 more days. If you have supported the campaign, we would like to take this time to thank you very much for your support. If you are yet to support us, we hope you’ll take an interest in the Opal Nugget Ice Maker and visit us at igg.me/at/getopal
