FirstBuild attended the 2015 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) this week. Amid the crowds of people and new products that filled the Las Vegas Convention Center, FirstBuild’s Micro-kitchen and connected thermometer made their official debuts.
The thermometer was the first to make its debut, and was unveiled as part of the new induction cooktop offered by GE Appliances; it is the very same thermometer that will be paired with the Paragon Induction Cooktop, currently under development at FirstBuild.
The thermometer connects wirelessly to the cooktop to give you complete control over the temperature at which you cook your food. This allows you to cook your food precisely and even explore other cooking techniques, such as “sous-vide”.
Celebrity Chef Martin Yan was on hand to demonstrate the features of the cooktop as well as its capability when paired with the, FirstBuild designed, thermometer. Shortly after the event, the thermometer and cooktop were featured in articles by CNET, Reviewed.com, Gizmodo, and more.
The Micro-kitchen was unveiled the next day in the GE pressroom. It was presented to several builders as well as members of the press. Convention goers were welcome to stop by at any point throughout the day and get hands with the Micro-kitchen.
The connected thermometer will be released in May with the new GE Monogram Induction Cooktop. It will also come with the Paragon Induction Cooktop, which will be the subject of a crowdfunding campaign starting in early February.
