The capstone students from Purdue West Lafayette recently presented their Mid-term reports on their respective projects. The two projects, which will continue into next semester, are the Gesture Controlled Vent Hood and the ADA Range.
The idea for the gesture controlled vent hood came out of the need to adjust the settings on your vent hood without having to touch it. Often, when cooking, your hands get dirty, leaving you unable to access things around the kitchen without washing your hands, this capstone team wanted to make sure that your vent hood wasn’t one of them.
The idea for the ADA Range was to create a range that could be easily usable by individuals with disabilities.
